LoHi’s newest coffee shop also has a bodega of sorts inside it.

After five years in the roasting business, Method Coffee Roasters recently opened its first coffee shop, the Method Collective Cafe,  in the Alexan LoHi at Dickenson Plaza apartment building at West 32nd Avenue and Tejon Street.

In addition to offering espresso, cappuccino, mocha and the like, the coffee shop fills a niche in the neighborhood with its shelves and coolers full of cereal, hummus, milk and eggs. It also has grab-n-go items like sandwiches and salads.

The space’s large communal tables help create community by facilitating conversation and connection with neighbors. Method Collective is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday; 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday; and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
